All change takes adjusting to. Responding positively to change comprises both a Mental component and an Emotional component.

Here are 3 Tips to help develop Both:

  1. When confronted by change or the unexpected, say, “That’s Good!” (Unfortunately, most people say, “Oh no!” or something similar triggering a negative emotional cycle.)
  1. Next, take one minute to list at least 3 Things that are good.
    (Yes, I know we tend to look at the undesired side of the change, but it’s important to acknowledge to ourselves there are positives too.)
  1. Finally, create at least 3 Options for moving forwards productively.
